Supporters of the use of procedural generation and artificial intelligence in video game creation had the opportunity to evaluate the ambitious Epitome project for themselves. The Kickstarter-funded MMORPG, which focuses on AI-generated dialogue, quests, and companions, has released its first playable demo.
The content is divided into three consecutive stages: fighting Boss Ettin as a warrior, exploring a living city and performing tasks generated by artificial intelligence characters on the fly, and traversing dangerous dungeons as a ninja.
As expected, the release drew mixed reactions from the gaming community. On the Reddit platform, the announcement of the demo was severely criticized by users, and the corresponding post was deleted by moderators. Meanwhile, on the project’s official Discord channel, players are actively reporting numerous bugs, launch issues, and technical flaws, but everyone can now form their own opinion on the game’s current state.
