After a week’s delay, SpiralAI has announced the release of RyzaChat: AI Ryza and Your Own Midsummer Dream Story, an artificial intelligence application that allows users to chat with Atelier Ryza’s Ryza Stalt. The game is only available in Japan, but has English support.
You can download RyzaChat through the following methods: app store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). Unfortunately, the game will throw an error if you try to install the apk file from a third-party website, so you will need a Japanese account. It’s also worth noting that while the game is free, you’ll face a number of limitations without a subscription.
Developers said that during the transfer process, they were able to further increase the available computing power. They first started gradually opening it up to pre-registered users, and now the app has officially launched in Japan. However, the team warns that there may be issues connecting to the servers. If the connection is lost during playback, automatic reconnection may not work. In this case, it is recommended to close the application completely and restart it.
RyzaChat: AI Ryza and Your Own Midsummer Dream Story is a mobile RPG set on the island of Kurken, familiar to fans of Atelier Ryza. Players will be able to describe their actions in free form, rather than the conventional system of selecting commands and predefined answer options. Conversations with Lysa will influence the development of events: you can collect materials, do alchemy, open a shop, or embark on a journey with characters from the original game.
To handle text dialogue, we use our own SpiralLLM language model, which is trained with Atelier Ryza scripts and materials. The character art was hand-created under the supervision of illustrator Tridemono, and Ryza’s voice is based on the voice recorded by original voice actor Yuri Noguchi using SpiralAI’s speech synthesis technology. The company said user conversation data will not be used to further train the model.
One of the features of the game is the task system formed during the communication process. At the beginning of the adventure, Lysa will offer to build a ship to cross the island of Kurken. Players need to collect materials with the heroine and use alchemy to create necessary items. The project also features familiar RPG elements: inventory, stamina, Cole game currency, map exploration, resource gathering, building and combat. All actions are related to dialogue, and the state of the character and world is updated based on the player’s decisions.
