Microsoft and The Coalition released the official story trailer for Gears of War: E-Day during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, focusing on Marcus Phoenix and Dominic Santiago as the Locust invasion begins.
E-Day takes place 14 years before the events of the original Gears of War, telling the story of young Marcus and Dominic in the early hours of their resurrection day. The new trailer focuses on the devastation caused by the first Locust attack and the early relationship between the two soldiers before the events of the original trilogy.
Alliance redesigns familiar enemies and introduces new creatures and opponents from the early days of the conflict.
Gears of War: E-Day can be played solo, and the campaign also supports online co-op for up to four players. A split-screen collaboration is also planned.
