“Smartphones and social media offer children many opportunities, but they also bring risks, such as cyberbullying, addiction and exposure to shocking images,” said Willemijn Aerdts, State Secretary for Digital Economy and Sovereignty. “Platforms have a responsibility to make their services safer, and I hold them accountable. At the same time, I want to help parents guide their children correctly, talk to them at a young age, and participate in their online lives.”
