
AMD demonstrated a series of next-generation processors based on the Zen 6 microarchitecture on its official technical document portal (Technical Information Portal). The new information confirms the future product line’s codenames, platforms, and key features across desktop and mobile domains.
Let’s talk about AM5 first. Olympic Ridge is the flagship desktop chip series that will replace the Ryzen 9000 series. The architecture will feature new chiplets that can house up to 12 Zen 6 cores each. In the top configuration, users will get up to 24 cores (48 threads). The series will traditionally offer versions with 3D V-Cache technology, and TDP levels will remain within the usual range of 65 to 170 W.
Medusa1 is a new generation hybrid processor (APU) for the AM5 socket, designed to replace the Ryzen 8000G series. The chip will combine a Zen 6 processor core with next-generation advanced integrated graphics and a powerful NPU.
The new solutions in the Medusa1 and Medusa2 series as well as the flagship Medusa Halo monster APU are expected to be used in notebooks and mini PCs. This is all Zen 6 and the new integrated graphics.
