Phew, Rockstar Games is going strong. First there was the announcement of the first deep dive on Netflix, six hours later on YouTube, and then there was the massive leak by a group of hackers who wanted to promote a little cryptocurrency at the same time. Quite a few people have been wondering what impact the leak snafu might have on the game’s release, but a few minutes ago Rockstar Games officially commented on it on social media.
As one would expect, Rockstar Games doesn’t really care about these issues and continues to work behind the scenes to catch those responsible for the leaks. Here’s Rockstar Games’ statement, translated for you of course:
Hello everyone,
We know many of you have been awaiting news from us about the events of the past week. It’s an understatement to say that it’s heartbreaking for our team to see these Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay footage appear in this way – but of course it’s not how we imagined you would view the game. We’re sorry it’s taken so long – from finishing the game (we’re almost there!) to releasing more details and official gameplay footage to getting you everything you need to know.
We very much look forward to providing you with a detailed look tomorrow. It took longer than expected to complete the game, but as with everything we do, we know we have to exceed your expectations, and we’re committed to delivering results that meet your expectations and you deserve. Unfortunately, there are some spoilers that may spoil the anticipated experience, but we hope you’ll all wait a little longer to experience the game for yourself on November 19th.
