Crimson Desert, the critically acclaimed open-world fantasy-adventure action game from Korean publisher and developer Pearl Abyss, reaches new levels with another major patch.

Pearl Abyss appears at Gamescom 2026 opening ceremony declare Regarding the release of Crimson Desert’s massive (33.5 GB on PC) update 2.0.0, the game is called Crimson Desert Enhanced Edition.
The enhanced version of Crimson Desert includes increased logical coherence of the main story, new story scenes, changes to the skill development system, eight skills of the cliff, an improved mission interface and additional localization.

The developers feel it’s important to clarify that Crimson Desert Enhanced Edition is a free update to the base version of the game: “If you already have Crimson Desert, this content will be added automatically when you update to the latest version”.

Crimson Desert releases on PC on March 20 (steam, EGS, microsoft store), apple(app store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The game sold 6 million copies, won praise from South Korea’s prime minister, and received “very positive” reviews on Steam.
The new content for Crimson Desert promised in June will be available before the end of September, with a 2026 release date. Additionally, work is underway to port the game to Nintendo Switch 2 – with a release expected in the first half of 2027.
