Users of AMD Radeon RX 9000 graphics cards are experiencing unstable performance in the battle royale Apex Legends after installing the latest AMD Software graphics card driver package: Adrenalin Edition version 26.8.1. There have been numerous complaints from players about desktops suddenly crashing during matches without informative error messages.
Judging from the first reports on professional forums and Reddit, the issue is of a software nature and mainly affects the new driver’s connection to the RX 9070 XT cable in DirectX 12 game mode. As a temporary workaround, users are advised to use the DDU utility to perform a clean installation of a previously stable version of the driver, or to switch the game API to stable DirectX 11 until AMD releases a patch.
Are you experiencing game crashes or errors after updating to Adrenalin 26.8.1?
