Xiaomi has launched a new smartphone, the Redmi 17C 5G, which features a large screen, 5G support, long battery life, and affordable price.

The Redmi 17C 5G is based on the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor and comes with 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM that is virtually expandable to 8 GB and 64/128 GB UFS 2.2 formatted internal memory. Storage capacity can be expanded up to 1 TB using a microSD memory card.

This smartphone is equipped with a 6.9-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of HD+ (1600 × 720 pixels), a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a peak brightness of 810 cd/m22. The monitor offers 83% NTSC color space coverage, 8-bit color depth, and supports DC dimming technology to eliminate flicker. It also reports on TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light (Software Solution), TÜV Rheinland Circadian Friendly and TÜV Rheinland Flicker-Free certifications, which reduce eye-damaging blue light and flicker levels.

At the top of the display, a teardrop-shaped notch houses an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. There is a 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.8) on the rear panel. Both cameras support high-definition video recording at 30fps.

The 6000mAh battery supports 33W wired charging. To protect against moisture and dust, the smartphone complies with IP64 standards. The device specifications also include a 3.5mm audio jack.

The smartphone runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. The Redmi 17C 5G is available in black, brown (with faux leather trim), and purple, with prices starting at $220.
