Wolcen Studio Officially Announces wolsen 2 It is a direct continuation of the isometric action role-playing game Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem. The game will be released in Early Access on PC in 2027, with a full version to follow later. You can apply now application and join the first phase of testing, which will last until September 1, 2026.
The events of Wolcen 2 will unfold several years after the events of the first part. The world is once again on the verge of destruction, and players must try to use weapons, abilities, and dark forces to save reality. The author promises a brutal combat system, a dark fantasy setting, and the ability to create a character without being bound by a fixed profession.
The hero will be able to use any weapon, discover and combine abilities related to it, develop passive talents and choose suitable equipment. In this way, the character will be gradually shaped according to the preferred play style. You can complete the campaign alone or cooperatively with up to four players.
However, familiarity with Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is not required. The authors call Wolcen 2 a direct sequel, but they promise to make the storyline accessible to beginners. Reading the first part will only provide additional context and allow you to better understand the events that led to the world to its current state.

Wolcen 2 was created from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5. The first part used an old version of CryEngine, and the technical foundation was one of the reasons for terminating its active development. According to the author, the game was not designed for a long life as a continuously supported project, and removing accumulated limitations would require an almost complete rework.
Developers also revolutionized network architecture. Wolcen 2 will use a peer-to-peer system with a server list where one player can act as the host for the session. This approach should reduce reliance on dedicated servers and provide the ability to play with friends for extended periods of time.
Wolcen Studio directly admitted that one of the main mistakes while working on the first part was insufficient communication with the community. In the case of Wolcen 2, the developers intend to rely on more open interaction with players. Regular playtesting should play an important role in this, during which users will be able to test new content, leave feedback and influence the development of the game.
It is understood that owners of Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem will receive future in-game rewards in Wolcen 2 as a thank you for supporting the first installment. Details about them will be announced later.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem was an unexpected commercial success despite some issues faced by players. However, the team currently working on Wolcen 2 is not the same team that originally created the first installment: the studio has changed significantly over the years.
