Konami is aiming to make Silent Hill an annual series, with series producer Motoi Okamoto saying the company hopes to release a new game every year. The publisher also has several unannounced Silent Hill projects currently in development or exploration.
In an interview with GamesRadar at Gamescom 2026, Okamoto talked about Konami’s plans for the psychological horror series’ recent relaunch. Konami wants developers to explore different settings and horror approaches, rather than constantly returning to the American settings of previous games.
Our goal is to hopefully release new games every year. There are many more projects in development, many of which have yet to be announced. Obviously we can’t elaborate. But we are currently working on and working on many projects.
Okamoto explained that constantly using a similar American setting could limit developers’ ability to create stories, ultimately becoming monotonous for players. Instead, Konami wants Silent Hill studios to tailor the series’ settings and narrative techniques to their respective projects.
