Studio 1047 Games has announced the end of active development on two of its shooters, SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded and the recently released EMPULSE. This decision was made because revenue was insufficient to cover server support costs.
Developers stress they do not plan to shut down the projects entirely. On September 3, both games will switch to P2P connection mode and receive server browsers. Dedicated servers and automatic matchmaking will be disabled, but players will be able to create their own lobbies, find matches via the server browser and continue playing with friends.
Shooter EMPULSE will receive another card and the cost of play will be reduced in all regions. This will be the final update for the project, which will be released in early access in June 2026.
1047 Games also addressed the change of direction in a statement. After a decade of working on online shooters, the studio intends to focus on new projects that may be significantly different from the team’s previous games. However, the developers have yet to reveal details about their next game.
We’ve learned a lot over the years, and we’re applying these lessons to our future projects.
Thanks to all the developers who worked on Splitgate, Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, and Empulse, including those who are no longer working on 1047: thank you. You have devoted years of your life to these projects, and we thank you for helping us create them.
To everyone who played the game, gave us feedback, made videos, discussed balance changes, discovered incredible moves, or invited friends to the lobby: thank you for being a part of it.
