ArtPlay Studios announced that it has postponed the release of the next game in the “Bloodstained” series. Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement is a prequel that precedes the events of Ritual of the Night and is not expected to be released in 2026. According to Koji Igarashi, a new version is planned to be released in 2027.
Iga-sensei released a video on the matter, in which he explained that the game is in the final stages of development. The producers and creators of the Bloodstained series also pointed out that the team as a whole decided to postpone the release of the new game until 2027. He also mentioned that the next step would be to provide gameplay footage, but in the meantime, fans got some new screenshots.
Fans’ reaction to the news was also very understanding. The vast majority believed in Mr. Iga and were ready to wait.
As for these new screenshots, there are four of them. One appears to depict a plot scene. The other three panels show characters in various stages of combat. Unlike Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Crimson Engagement will feature two protagonists who will appear in all stages at the same time.
