At Gamescom 2026, the gameplay of Road Kings, released by Saber Interactive last year, was shown for the first time. This project promises to be one of the most realistic truck driver simulators, but at the same time the developers work hard to make it even more spectacular. At Gamescom, they talked about how they made the game and their expectations:
- Road Kings will allow you to accept multiple orders at the same time. Players can choose between a large contract with just one delivery point and several smaller orders, but this requires making full use of the available space in the trailer. Additionally, each contract has its own expiration date, so it can sometimes be profitable to deviate from the main route to take additional orders.
- Truck parking is an integral part of the gameplay. The caution with which players enter the loading or unloading area will affect the duration of the entire delivery chain. If parking is unsuccessful, loading and unloading times will be longer. The developers promise to provide a variety of camera angle options to make driving the car more convenient for players.
- Weather phenomena and random events. In the gameplay footage, the developers showed off a scenario where players must drive along a mountain road during a severe storm. According to the developer, the weather in the game is not just a visual effect, but an element that directly affects the gameplay. This situation is similar to random events on the road.
- Players will have different choices that affect their progress. The developers gave an example of this: During a mission, the driver was asked to change the original route to pick up another piece of cargo that was very important at the moment. By agreeing, you can make more money and improve your relationship with the new company, but at the same time lose your reputation with the original customer.
- The game will feature major events and unexpected situations not found in other truck driving simulators. For example, deteriorating weather may cause individual objects to catch fire. The trailer also shows how players find themselves in the middle of a tornado and are forced to escape along a collapsed road. The developers focused on creating spectacular events not usually seen in traditional truck driving simulators.
- Take simulation seriously. Road Kings takes into account truck weight, wear, brakes, torque, tires and transmission, as well as dynamic weather and road conditions.
Let us remind you that Road Kings will be released on Xbox Series X | S, Playstation 5 and PC on March 11, 2027.
