The developers of Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator continue to gradually introduce an improved material system. With the release of update 1.61, the technology will be available on three more trucks, significantly changing their interiors.

The updated system will be available in American Truck Simulator, International LT and International LoneStar, and in Euro Truck Simulator 2 – Volvo FH Series 6. The technology was first introduced in version 1.60, adding it to the DAF NGD and MAN TG3 TGX in Euro Truck Simulator 2, as well as the Mack Anthem and Western Star 49X in American Truck Simulator.

The main changes involve how various surfaces within the cabin interact with light. Leather, fabric, plastic, and metal should now be more obviously different from each other and maintain the effect even in low light. As a result, truck interiors will become more detailed and visually expressive, and individual interior elements will be easier to distinguish.

SCS Software stressed that work continues on porting the system to other trucks. The developers plan to gradually expand the list of supported models so that more cars can get updated interiors. It seems that now even the dashboard deserves special attention – truck drivers can only enjoy the road and examine every detail of the cab.
