CD Projekt RED has decided to appease the community of adventure connoisseurs of platinum blond monster warrior and part-time hero aficionado Geralt of Rivia by delaying not only the release of The Witcher Part 4 but even the reveal of at least the most interesting details. To this end, a new story supplement “Song of the Past” for “The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt” was announced some time ago, and its details are slowly starting to come out from the studio.
So, at the end of the Gamescom 2026 gaming event, the developers released a 12-minute video of the latest gameplay. The developers tried to avoid plot “spoilers,” so the narration in the film may seem incoherent, but that’s its intent.
The Ballad of the Past expansion is scheduled to be released next year; there are no specific details yet.
We also remember that CD Projekt RED also announced a full remaster of the third “The Witcher” at Gamescom 2026, which will be released on September 29. Expect improved graphics, smarter artificial intelligence, a tweaked combat system, and an improved skill tree. All owners of the original The Witcher 3 will receive the remaster for free.
