Continuous use of VPN services poses serious dangers, so the country needs to purposefully get young people to break the habit of constantly changing their IP addresses to access the Internet. Chairman of the State Duma Information Policy Committee Sergey Boyarsky made the remarks on the sidelines of the New Media Festival.
The representative said that the abuse of such apps is definitely not worth it, as they can lead users to “those corners of the Internet” from dangers where the state is doing its best to protect citizens. Boyarsky emphasized that protecting young people from such digital threats is currently the main task of the relevant committees, adding that he himself has never resorted to VPN services.
