During Gamescom, pre-orders for the Xbox Series X25 limited edition console announced earlier this year have started. Microsoft first made pre-order opportunities available to players it considered Xbox fans, and then opened them up to everyone. As is often the case with limited-edition consoles, they disappeared from sale almost immediately.
Within the first few hours of general pre-orders opening, the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console disappeared from the Microsoft Store and other major retail chains in nearly every region. Stores have reported that all allocated quantities have sold out, but have not ruled out that additional quantities may be made available at a later date. At the same time, Microsoft said that these consoles will be produced in limited quantities, but did not disclose the specific production numbers. There are rumors of 25,000 consoles.
The Xbox Series X25 is starting to appear on resale sites as the console disappears from official sellers. The minimum bid for the set-top box is $2,000-$2,500, but there are higher prices, up to $5,000. Meanwhile, pre-orders are now on resale, while the launch of the console itself will take place in November.
The demand for the anniversary Xbox X25 Special Edition wireless controller gamepad is also high. The official price is US$79.99, and the pre-order price is about US$130-150. However, the controller is currently still available for pre-order at select retailers.
