CD Projekt Red and The Witcher 4 narrative director Philipp Weber have responded to fan dissatisfaction with the change of protagonist in the highly anticipated open-world fantasy action role-playing game.

Let us remember that in “The Witcher 4”, the protagonist will be Geralt of Rivia, who is not familiar from the previous installments, but will be played by his grown-up adopted daughter Ciri (aka the Son of the Elder Blood), who is preparing to become a full-fledged wizard.

The Witcher 4 is expected to be released on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S in 2028. The project is positioned as “The biggest, boldest, most ambitious game yet” in the history of the studio. They promised a vast world, intense gameplay, and a deep and powerful story.
The official remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (released on September 29) and the aforementioned story supplement Song of the Past (slated for 2027) will help increase fans’ expectations for the fourth installment.
