Flagship smartphones POCO F9 Ultra and F9 Pro almost completely decrypted ahead of launch

In a few days, on September 1st, POCO will launch a new series of smartphones POCO F9, including two high-end models: POCO F9 Ultra and POCO F9 Pro. The new product has flagship features with a powerful processor and a high-capacity battery that ensures long running times while handling resource-intensive applications and heavy gaming.

POCO F9 Ultra is equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and VisionBoost D8 co-processor. POCO F9 Pro Equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, V-series (SM8850-1-AB), also equipped with VisionBoost D8. In supported scenarios, the VisionBoost D8 co-processor further enhances image clarity and smoothness through functions such as AI super-resolution, smart frame rate, and game HDR.

WildBoost Optimization uses AI algorithms and works with VisionBoost D8 to select a scheduling strategy based on the target frame rate and game scene to mitigate frame rate drops, dynamically manage temperature and balance power consumption to ensure high-performance CPU performance throughout the game. According to the manufacturer, the POCO F9 series supports 24 games running at a native game speed of 185 FPS, and some popular games can run at a speed of 165 FPS.

Both models feature an AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 185Hz, a touch sampling rate of up to 480Hz when using 10 touch points, and a touch sampling rate of up to 4800Hz in Game Turbo mode. The POCO F9 Ultra has a screen diagonal of 6.9 inches, while the POCO F9 Pro has a screen diagonal of 6.59 inches.

The use of high-efficiency chips and higher screen refresh rates mean higher power consumption. POCO F9 Ultra uses a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 8050mAh, a silicon content of 16%, and an energy density of 809Wh/L, which ensures the stable operation of POCO F9 Ultra in long-term gaming and other usage scenarios. The more compact POCO F9 Pro model has a battery capacity of 6330 mAh.

Both models support 100W HyperCharge wired charging and 50W HyperCharge wireless charging, as well as up to 27W reverse wired charging and 22.5W reverse wireless charging.

In addition, both smartphones come with Bose audio system. Specifically, POCO F9 Ultra has a 2.1-channel sound system with dual 1115D balanced speakers and a dedicated 1620 subwoofer.

Both models are equipped with a 20-megapixel main camera and feature optical image stabilization (OIS) to provide high-quality images. POCO F9 Ultra It also received a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera that supports OIS, supports 10x zoom without losing quality, and records 4K video at 60 fps. In turn, POCO F9 Pro is equipped with a 500,000-pixel telephoto module with 2.5x zoom, suitable for portrait photography and mid-range photo shooting.

It is reported that the POCO F9 Aurora Green version will also be launched. This version will adopt the design of a completely luminous back panel for the first time in the history of the POCO brand. The remaining details about the new series, including final configurations, pricing and the positioning of POCO F9 Ultra and POCO F9 Pro in the market, will be announced on September 1.
