Stellar Blade: How does it work on Nintendo Switch 2? Move display resolution and frame rate up

Shift Up shares new technical details about the release nintendo switch 2 of Star Blade: Complete Editionpaying special attention to resolution and performance and the use of NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR.

In an interview with NintendoEverything, technical director and CTO Dongki Lee explained that the game’s resolution will be 1080p Upgrade Tramite DLSS When the console is connected to the docking station and 720p upscaling in portable mode.

60 fps in laptop and dock…but not natively

In terms of frame rate, the goal is to provide 60 frames/second In both modes, but not entirely true. In fact, Lee clarified that the game renders Basic 30 frames/second,in AMD FSR 3.1 frame interpolation reaches 60 fps.

“We were targeting 60 frames per second in both portable and docked modes. We actually used a special approach: as you know, the Switch 2 supports Nvidia’s DLSS. We used that as an upgrade, but it didn’t have any frame generation capabilities,” Lee explained.

“What we did was take AMD’s PC version of FSR 3.1 and use a feature called frame interpolation to hit the 60 frames per second target. We use DLSS for upgradeswe then apply the obtained results to FSR 3.1’s frame interpolation is capable of targeting 60 frames per second. Additionally, ensuring consistent latency for players is also important. We kept it at 30 frames per second to get a stable base, then used frame interpolation to get to 60. “

The gameplay of Stellar Blade on Nintendo Switch 2 is introduced in the video of Gamescom 2026 Stellar Blade: The full version will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 at the end of 2026, but there is no exact release date yet. Maybe it will be revealed at the rumored Nintendo Direct in September?
