The developers of Total War: Warhammer 3 have taken a closer look at the Grott brothers – Otto, Etrak and Gurka (known as Grotkin). Marked by Nurgle before they were born, they brought rotten vengeance upon the Imperium and worked to reshape it in the pattern of the Plague God’s realm.
Grotkin leads the Masters of the Triplets faction and receives special mechanics related to Nurgle. Souls collected in battle can be used to purchase Nurgle’s Boons, including Rites of Corruption with campaign and combat effects, the Great Father’s Blessings that enhance lords and heroes, and the construction of Gardens of Corruption. As corruption spreads, new opportunities arise, and captured settlements can be transformed into dark fortresses or gardens of corruption.
The campaign begins in icy Norsca, where Grotkin must conquer the local tribes and turn them into vassals. Once you’ve consolidated your position, you can move in any direction, but the main goal is to march on Altdorf and ultimately destroy the Empire. In battle, armies combine armies of Chaos Warriors with Daemons of Nurgle – from Reavers and Chaos Warriors to Nurgle, Plague Bearers and Soul Grinder. Unit upgrades provide additional flexibility, for example, turning a regular Reaver into a Chaos Knight.
