GTA 6 development co-director Rob Nelson said in a recent interview with IGN that Rockstar’s upcoming massive sandbox is so massive that not a single employee at the company will be able to explore every nook and cranny of Leonidas’ virtual state.

The top manager said the team’s main creative challenge was to evolve the time-tested game mechanics while maintaining the traditional spirit of frenetic mayhem, dark humor and absolute freedom. It took us thirteen years since the release of the fifth installment in the Cult series to create such a massive and detailed open world.

The authors have tried to fill the game’s map with tons of unique content, secrets, and various activities that will take dedicated fans hundreds of hours to fully explore. According to the developers, the creators put careful thought into each game room: from the arrangement of people and drinks on the tables, to the family photos on the walls that accurately display the tattoos of the virtual citizens.
