Today John Ternus officially takes over as CEO of Apple. In response, the company updated its official website page to provide information about management. Ternus’ official biography has also been updated and expanded. In particular, Turners’ main priorities as head of Apple have been officially revealed – these are “Reliability and durability”,besides “Innovations in Materials and Device Design.”

The introduction to Ternus on Apple’s official page is relatively short. It basically keeps the same structure, but highlights three key points related to Ternus’ previous work at Apple. A brand new paragraph appears in its text:
“John has led the company’s focus on reliability and durability, introducing new technologies that make Apple products incredibly sustainable. He has also made significant contributions to Apple’s materials and hardware innovations, reducing the carbon footprint of its products, including creating new recycled aluminum composites used in multiple product lines, using 3D printed titanium in Apple Watch Ultra, and improving repairability to extend the life of many Apple products.
The rest of the biography has either remained the same or been rewritten, but the main idea remains the same. Analysts said the paragraph was a strong indication of a priority that is important to Ternus and one he wants to emphasize as CEO.
Tim Cook has been very focused on reducing Apple’s carbon footprint. Ternus made it clear that this work will continue under his leadership, but he will also focus on innovation in device design and creating products that will last for years to come.
