The shooter Serious Sam: Shattered Universe has been released on Steam, providing players with a new experience in the famous series with rogalite elements and an emphasis on cooperative modes.
The new offering lets you choose from one of five unique versions of the main character (including a cartoon version) and then go out and take down a plethora of Mental enemies. The project supports single-player and co-op play for up to four players, offering the opportunity to collect permanent upgrades, combine power-ups and orchestrate crazy shootouts.
The game costs twenty dollars, with a special ten percent discount for the first week. Thanks to a revised timeline structure, the developers promise massive battles and high replayability.
Players’ recognition of this new product is only 46%. As mentioned before, the game has the right formula, but the execution is terrible. It feels like an attempt to bring a “baby boomer shooter” to modern reality, but at the same time the project is still very rough – despite a lengthy beta test, the developers have yet to iron out key issues.
