Dell has released a 14-inch laptop based on Wildcat Lake processor; the new DS14270 model is positioned lower than the XPS 13 and will be available in the fall. This computer is a direct competitor of Apple’s Macbook Neo.

laptop Dell 14S It will be powered by an Intel Core 5 320 or Core 7 350 processor – both with integrated graphics. Both chips are part of the Wildcat Lake series and offer six cores and six threads: two high-efficiency and four high-efficiency; standard E-cores are not available. Clock speeds are up to 4.6 GHz for the P cores and 3.4 GHz for the E LP cores on the Core 5 320; for older chips, those numbers are 4.8 and 3.6 GHz. Both processors feature 6 MB of Intel Smart Cache; base power is 15 W and maximum power is 35 W in Turbo Boost mode.
LPDDR5X-7647 operating in single-channel mode with RAM capacity of 8 or 16 GB; SSD – 256, 512 GB or 1 TB. Two display options are available: the basic configuration offers a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels, a refresh rate of 60 Hz, and a brightness of 300 cd/m²; the improved version has a resolution of 2880 × 1800 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a brightness of up to 450 cd/m². The Dell 14S has two 10 GB USB Type-C ports supporting DisplayPort and Power Delivery, an HDMI 1.4 port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Depending on the model, it supports Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E.
The Dell 14S comes with a battery capacity of 61.2 Wh, which the manufacturer guarantees is enough to watch Netflix for 23 hours. The battery has a new design that helps reduce heat and slow degradation. The weight of the laptop in the aluminum casing starts from 1.15 kg. Pricing hasn’t been confirmed yet, but Dell is promising to keep it slightly lower than the XPS 13, which starts at $699. The Dell 14S is scheduled to go on sale in the fall of 2026.
