1047 Games has announced that it will no longer actively support Empulse and Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. The studio cited a lack of revenue from the project as the reason for the decision, which did not allow them to continue to pay for the dedicated server operations.
Released in July 2026, Empulse is a competitive multiplayer shooter focused on fast-paced matches. “Splitgate: Arena Reloaded” is an updated version of the shooting game “Splitgate 2”, released in 2025.
1047 Games noted that neither game generated enough revenue to cover the cost of dedicated servers. The studio recently continued to pay for its own infrastructure and relied on audience growth, but eventually realized that this model was unsustainable.
Developers stress that they don’t want to simply turn off access to the project once support ends. Therefore, starting September 3rd, Empulse and Splitgate: Arena Reloaded will switch to point-to-point connections. Dedicated servers and automatic matchmaking will be disabled, but players will be able to create their own matches, find available lobbies and play with friends.
Empulse will receive one more new card before support ends. The price of the game has been reduced in all regions and is now $19.99. 1047 Games did not specify the new price in its release.
The studio also looked back on the fate of the original Splitgate. When the dedicated server shut down last year, it was switched to peer-to-peer, so the project remains accessible. In a similar scenario, developers want to retain the ability to play Empulse and Splitgate: Arena Reloaded.
