Bandai Namco has released a new 8.5-minute trailer for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Tef, focusing entirely on the multiplayer portion of the game. Online, players will create their own mercenary pilots, independent of the events of the main campaign, and the air base will become a shared hub that can accommodate up to 100 users.
Players will receive rewards for completing missions, including cosmetics for their pilots and aircraft. Multiplayer will be based on two modes. Co-Op Assault will offer PvE combat, where two teams of four will compete to eliminate NPC opponents. Enemy mix will change from mission to mission, so choosing the right aircraft will be an important part of your tactics.
Co-op battle pits two teams of four players against each other with support from land, sea and air units. As you gain points, your pilot’s threat level also increases: the higher it is, the more points you gain from destroying an enemy, but the more severely enemies are rewarded for their own death.
There will also be temporary emergency sorties and emergency sortie missions. In the first case, a squad of four pilots will have to fight powerful NPCs, while in the second, seven players will team up against the legendary giant guns of the Ace Combat series. PvP will feature separate activities, including a free-for-all mode for up to eight participants.
Additional rewards will be available through the Ace Pass Battle Pass. The season will last two months and items included will be available for individual purchase. Ace Combat 8: Wings of Tef will be released on October 2 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
