The team behind the iconic PlayStation 3 emulator RPCS3 has flatly rejected the possibility of introducing DLSS 5 neural filters. The reason for the stern announcement is that users began experiments by inserting the leaked nvngx_dlssnr.dll library into emulator renderers.
While the gaming industry is pushing for more and more upscalers and frame generators to fantasize games and mask a lack of optimization, we have no intention of delivering this garbage.
According to the emulator’s author, DLSS 5’s generative neural network adds detail (“illusion”) that breaks the original visual style of PS3-era games. The main task of RPCS3 is to simulate the complex architecture of the Cell Broadband Engine and preserve the classic original form, thus achieving maximum historical accuracy, therefore the use of such neural filters remains the responsibility of the end user, and theirs alone.
