Until Dawn 2: Date confirmed for next year

Fans who like exquisite horror games can pay attention to January 28, 2027. According to today’s announcement, “Until Dawn 2” will officially be launched on PlayStation 5. Not only that, the pre-order start date and corresponding bonuses have also been confirmed, and the Digital Deluxe Edition has also been officially announced.

To coincide with the date announcement, a new trailer containing scenes from the game has also been released. According to the developers, Until Dawn 2 once again relies on a strong narrative structure shaped by player decisions. Every choice should have immediate and long-term consequences, changing the course of the story and determining the fate of the characters.

While the original left a lasting impression with its thick atmosphere and nerve-wracking twists, the sequel promises a more complex plot that connects disparate perspectives. The developers stressed that the story should be more branching and emotionally intense this time around, without losing the series’ typical horror character.

Technically, Until Dawn 2 is said to be developed from the ground up for current-gen consoles. The graphics engine has been completely revamped, allowing for more realistic facial animations, more detailed environments, and more dynamic lighting. Audiovisual presentation plays a vital role, especially in the horror genre, and the developers promise players can expect a more immersive experience. The soundscape should also be crucial: finely tuned noise, spatial sounds and atmospheric soundtracks should constantly add to the tension.

Pre-orderers can get the game starting September 10th, with rewards including the Until Dawn Classic Set, the Akishima Island Holiday Set, and a Dr. Hill bobblehead, the latter of which can be found in the game. A Digital Deluxe Edition is also available. Included is the Y2K Neon Vibes Pack for all eight Dead True characters, as well as a Death Diorama with unlockable vignettes.
