Austrian cooling system manufacturer Noctua has once again demonstrated exemplary customer support by sending a free set of modern socket mounts directly to the owner of an eight-year-old NH-D15 subcooler in the Philippines.

Reddit user SingularLongan plans to build a system on a new microATX motherboard, but installing an old cooler requires the latest installation kit. After learning about Noctua’s upgrade plans from the Linus Tech Tips podcast, he decided to try his luck. The company does not require old purchase receipts from 2018. To prove ownership, Noctua support simply requires a photo of the cooler, accompanied by a note with the user’s name and current date.

Since the release of the AMD AM2 socket in 2006, Noctua has had a policy of providing free installation kits. The company has recently shipped more than 500,000 free kits worldwide, reinforcing the concept of its coolers as long-term investments for future generations of platforms.
