4A Games has announced that Metro 2039 will be released on February 4, 2027. In addition to the release date, the studio also showed off the first console gameplay recorded on PS5 Pro, in which a new hero nicknamed “The Wanderer” emerges from a tunnel into a destroyed Moscow.
Wanderers must reach the Fortress of Novoreja, located within the dam. On the surface, where radiation, devastated areas and countless threats await him, the player must monitor the status of his equipment and independently choose tactics during the conflict.
The hero’s arsenal includes the silent air rifle “Shatun”, incendiary grenades and the shotgun “Duplet”. At the same time, “Metro 2039” will still be a single-player, story-driven first-person shooter game, continuing the series’ consistent emphasis on exploration, shooting, and survival.
The game is created on the 4A engine. On PS5 and PS5 Pro, developers are promising ray tracing, and a separate performance mode will deliver a stable 60 frames per second. Metro 2039 will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
