Electronics manufacturer Tecno demonstrated a bezel-less smartphone concept at the IFA 2026 show in Berlin – which features no black frame at all around the screen.

The Tecno bezel-less smartphone features a 6.78-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution – there’s really no black bezel around it, but if you look at the screen at a certain angle, you can see a subtle black line. When the monitor is viewed at a right angle, it breaks at the edges on the sides.
The OLED panel itself still has an inactive edge, but Tecno hides it behind the edge. To do this, we have to use two layers of protective glass: the uppermost layer is located on the edge of the sides, and below it is the bottom glass and OLED panel. This means that when assembling a smartphone, the display must be mounted not from the front, but from the back and fixed to the front with glue.
The result is slightly thicker edges than most modern smartphones, but the difference is negligible. Tecno bezel-less smartphone is “Reimagining how users interact with smartphones in the era of artificial intelligence”Perhaps that’s a bit of an exaggeration, the company says: Manufacturers have stopped shrinking the frame—it’s become thin enough that it doesn’t matter to most people anymore. There’s absolutely no real point in going without it, but the device looks attractive: the Android interface is stretched to the edges, and so are videos and photos. This design allows you to increase the display size with the usual dimensions of a smartphone, or reduce the size of the device with the same screen format – depending on your look.
The manufacturer also clarified the technical characteristics of Tecno Bezelless. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7400e processor coupled with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB inbuilt storage. The battery capacity is 6000mAh – presumably a silicon carbon battery. The back panel houses a 50-megapixel main camera and 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and there’s also a 32-megapixel front-facing camera in the cutout.
In addition, the back cover has a red LED for displaying notifications and an image of a butterfly made using a three-dimensional effect – if you rotate it in front of a light source, its wings appear to rise from the device. It should be emphasized that Tecno Bezelless is a concept project and the manufacturer has no plans to release this smartphone.
