Rev. NOiR is an upcoming JRPG directed by producer Nobuki Kadoi, known for his work on the Drakengard 2 and Lord of Vermillion series. The project focuses on traditional elements of the genre, including character development, team building, and plot based on character relationships. The story begins on the eve of the Lightfall disaster, and the world is gradually engulfed by a fatal disaster. Young Ash meets Fawn and her protector Diana, and joins them on a journey to find the source of the disaster, confront the mysterious Providence, and prevent the destruction of the world.
At the heart of the story is the conflict between predestination and free will. Throughout their journey, the heroes encounter the consequences of the astral laws that have controlled humanity for centuries, and gradually uncover secrets related to Lightfall and their own destiny. Character development, finding allies, and the relationships between them play an important role in the story, revealing the personal motivations of those involved in the journey and the consequences of their decisions. As the story progresses, the original mission to save the world takes on more complexity, raising questions about whether the heroes’ fate is truly sealed, or whether they can change it through their actions.
