Earlier this week, reviews of Halloween: The Game emerged, along with a first test of its performance on Xbox Series X | S. Meanwhile, the project is only launching on September 8; it’s now available for customers to pre-order. In early testing, the game was running in two modes on Microsoft’s console, and both offered only 30 FPS. The developers managed to prepare an update for the full version.
After the update, Halloween: The Game will work as follows on Xbox consoles:
- Xbox Series X. Quality Mode – 4K (after scaling) 30 FPS. Performance Mode – 4K (scaled) 60 FPS. In both modes, frame rates and stuttering drop. In quality-first mode, FPS will typically drop to close to 25, while in performance-first mode, it will drop to close to 50.
- Xbox Series S. Like older consoles, the game has 2 modes. “Quality” – 1080p (scaled), 30 FPS. “Performance” – 1080p (scaled) 60 FPS. Quality priority mode always maintains 27-30 FPS. In performance mode, the frame rate often dropped to around 45-50.
Let us remind you that critics gave the game Halloween: The Game quite a low rating. It was criticized mainly because of performance issues.
