Basketball simulator NBA 2K27 marks the first official appearance of NVIDIA DLSS 5 technology in the game. However, the player who started the project did not find an item with the number “5” in the graphics settings. Instead, the new feature comes in the form of a simple toggle called DLSS Neural Rendering. Apparently, NVIDIA realized that calling this neural filter a new version of scaling technology was clearly a mistake, so in the first game to use it, we saw a slight reshaping of the nature of the filter.

Many believe that the clear separation of names will benefit the technology – developers and players will see it as an optional next-generation graphics filter rather than a forced replacement for the classic rendering pipeline.
Do you think it’s right to separate neural rendering from the usual upgrader in the settings menu?
