Wizards turned vampires: One of the first mods for Blood of the Dawn Treader gives protagonist Geralt’s face

Blood of the Dawn Treader, a vampire role-playing game from Polish studio Rebel Wolves, already reminds players of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but thanks to new mods, the similarity has reached a new level.

As noted in the publication playerOn launch day, Blood of the Dawn Treader was revamped, with the protagonist adopting the face of Geralt, the wizard of Rivia, familiar to fans of CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher series of games.

The mod is called Geralt Face Swap for Coen and can be downloaded on the website Nexus Moda hobbyist project under the pseudonym Little0nion, has received update 1.1 since its initial release.

According to Little0nion, his version of Geralt in Blood of the Dawn Treader contains a full skeletal mesh and uses the same metahuman-based facial model as the original protagonist.

This means the character’s facial expressions, lip sync, and animations (including vampire transformation) must work as the developers intended. The hero’s eye color is changed to yellow and his hair color is changed to white.

Blood of the Dawn Treader releases on PC on September 3rd (steam, GOG, microsoft store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The game received “very positive” reviews from Steam users (82% review) and sold 1 million copies in two days.

The development of both Bad Wolf and Blood of the Dawn Treader is being led by former The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, so the overlap between the projects isn’t surprising.
