British chip manufacturer Arm announced the launch of a new generation of mobile computing platform Arm CSS for Mobile 2, which is based on the Mali G2-Ultra NX graphics processor. The company calls it the first AI-native GPU specifically designed to bring advanced neural rendering technology to smartphones and portable devices. The main innovation of this architecture is the integration of dedicated neural accelerator hardware acceleration units directly into the GPU shader pipeline. With their help, Arm implemented a mobile version of the NVIDIA DLSS stack.

Arm NSS is a hardware neural network upgrader that can restore clear 1080p images from the low base resolution of 540p.

Neural Frame Rate Boost is a frame-generated mobile simulation that doubles the final frame rate from 30 FPS to 60 FPS due to neural synthesis of intermediate frames.

Neural Supersampling and Denoising is NVIDIA’s mature simulation of ray reconstruction, combining supersampling with ray tracing noise reduction. Combined with the third generation RT Unit hardware unit, you can render fair shadows and tracking without overloading the chip. By the way, here is a list of games and engines that require the above technical support.
