Rayson announced the launch of the LPDDR5X LPCAMM2 memory module with a capacity of 96 GB and a data transfer rate of up to 9600 MT/s. The company is positioning a new product line of high-performance laptops and PCs that support artificial intelligence.

Rayson said that the 96GB module has been verified to be compatible with the platforms of leading international PC manufacturers. The company did not name those manufacturers or confirm which systems will use the memory. Pricing and availability information have yet to be announced.
The dimensions of the LPCAMM2 module are 78×23×3 mm. According to Rayson, it takes up about 60% less motherboard space than traditional DDR5 SO-DIMM memory. The company also claims that module power consumption is reduced by about 50% and energy efficiency is improved by 70%.
The LPCAMM2 memory module uses LPDDR5X memory chips, and the module itself is still removable and replaceable. This allows notebook manufacturers to use memory with LPDDR features without having to solder it directly to the motherboard. Rayson is also preparing to launch LPCAMM2 modules in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities.
These are not the first LPCAMM2 memory modules with a capacity of 96 GB and a nominal speed of 9600 MT/s. In February, Lenovo’s ThinkBook product manager showed off a Samsung module with exactly the same capacity and speed. However, Samsung’s products had not yet entered mass production at that time.
Rayson has announced the addition of 96GB LPCAMM2-9600 memory to its supplier list. More importantly, Credit Suisse said its products have been verified to be compatible with PC manufacturers’ platforms. The company has yet to confirm whether the 96GB LPCAMM2-9600 has begun production, so it’s unclear when the first laptops using these modules will appear.
