Forza Horizon 6, released in May this year, will receive no less than two major DLCs. Currently, nothing has been released by Playground Games and Xbox, and the question of the game’s release date on the Playstation 5 is still up in the air. The developers have said multiple times that they plan to release the game on Sony consoles before the end of 2026, and they repeated that earlier this week. However, insiders say the actual plans are different.
Several insiders have stated that Playground Games has decided to delay the release of Forza Horizon 6 for Playstation 5 until 2027. Tom Warren states in his material edge I also wrote about this. He also noted there that they plan to release the game’s first DLC early next year, which will also be bundled with the upcoming Sony console version.
Forza Horizon 6 is very popular on Xbox and PC, while the previous game in the series, Forza Horizon 5, is also popular on Playstation 5 after Microsoft released it on Sony’s console last year. From what I understand, the delay in the Playstation 5 release is mainly due to the need to coincide with the release of the first expansion pack for Forza Horizon 6. Forza Horizon 6 first releases on Xbox and PC on May 15th, and I expect it to appear on Playstation 5 within 12 months of launch.
Currently, there is no information on what the first DLC for Forza Horizon 6 will be. Games in the series often have DLC tie-ins, such as with Lego or Hot Wheels.
