This modular shell design is not new. Thermaltake’s Level 10 case launched in 2009 led the trend and went into mass production in 2011. Phanteks’ EX5 series of cases includes three models: EX5, EX5 Plus, and EX5 Max. Their equipment is different.

The base version of the EX5 case is designed for enthusiasts who value flexibility. The case only comes with a pre-installed fan on the rear wall. The EX5 Plus model has a built-in Glacier One 360 S25-SE AIO liquid cooling system with hidden ducts for a more beautiful appearance. The LSS-equipped S25 ARGB fan unit features a single frame and one cable, simplifying installation and reducing the number of wires in the system.

The EX5 Max also comes with the Glacier One 360S25-SE AIO, but the latter offers a 6-inch high-resolution display that instantly displays various system metrics. The screen can also display custom images.

Phanteks EX5 case dimensions are 449 × 234 × 474 mm. They support the installation of ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards. They come with four expansion slots and a pair of combo slots for 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch drives.

These cases support coolers up to 72mm in height, graphics cards up to 358mm in length and 175mm in height, and power supplies up to 210mm in length. In addition, the new product also supports the installation of 360 mm LSS radiators on the inner wall.

The front panel of the case provides 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB-C 3.2 Gen2x2, 1 3.5mm audio output, and is also equipped with power and reset buttons.

The Phanteks EX5 case is only available in black. The manufacturer prices the base EX5 model at $109.99/€109.90, the EX5 Plus model with built-in lifesaving system at $159.99/€159.90, and the EX5 Max model with monitor lifesaving system at $229.99/€229.90. Glacier One 360S25-SE LSS will also be sold separately. It costs US$79.99/€79.90.
