The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remastered: GTA 6 release date and first gameplay!

In a special Direct Edition, Nintendo announced new details about the long-awaited remaster. The release date doesn’t even shy away from the GTA 6 competition – and the first game launches today as well.

In order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the “Legend of Zelda” series, a special live broadcast about the game series was broadcast today, and details of the long-awaited remake of the classic series “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” were finally announced. Beyond that, a specific release date has now been confirmed.

So Nintendo isn’t even shying away from the competition for a new version of the former Nintendo 64 hit, Grand Theft Auto VI, because unlike many other developers and publishers, they aren’t shying away from November 2026. Instead, the Nintendo Switch 2 remaster of the classic will release on November 5, 2026, just two weeks before GTA 6.

Producer Eiji Aonuma also provided initial insights into the remake of the game originally released in 1998. For example, the gameplay shows Link talking to NPCs such as Saria in the Kokiri Forest. The aim of the graphic redesign was to create a more modern, modern look without completely abandoning the nostalgia of the original.

In addition to this, Nintendo has also made some changes to the gameplay in the remake. So Link can now be jumped manually. Gameplay footage also shows off the Great Deku Tree, combat, found items, and areas of the game beyond the Kokiri Forest. In the open game world, scenes will take you to places like Hyrule Plains and Hyrule Castle Town.

The remake was originally officially announced in June of this year, after rumors had been circulating for some time, and now the release has been confirmed.
