Hello Games studio has released a universe update for No Man’s Sky. The patch introduces new mechanics for research, construction, and facilities management, as well as content dedicated to commemorating the project’s tenth anniversary.
Players have the opportunity to become the director of a space station. This mechanism allows you to transform the interior, expand the available space and attract new travelers. The ability to create a galactic alliance has also been added to explore the galaxy together or compete with other players for territory. With the help of deep space computers, users can now build autonomous bases, orbital stations and cities anywhere in outer space.
Across inhabited star systems, new outposts have emerged, designed to conduct trade, process rare materials, and receive special contracts. Additionally, the unstable skeletons of giant craft can now be detected in deep space. Their research is conducted entirely through spacewalks. The developers note that the shards can explode if you’re not careful, but successful research can net you technology and valuable cargo. For navigation, route building and searching for unknown signals, an updated star system map has been added to the game.
To commemorate the game’s tenth anniversary, the developers launched an adventure called “Our Journey Continues.” Its stages reflect key moments in No Man’s Sky’s development history. Completing missions will reward you with: an in-game painting featuring illustrations from the biggest update of the previous decade, as well as content recreated from early pre-release video material of the game – an old Sentinel interceptor ship and a Diplodocus pet.
