Ahead of the release of the new Ace Combat video game, the live-action prequel should give you an idea of the mood of the story.
Bandai Namco has announced the release of “Zero Hour”, a live-action prequel to “Ace Combat 8: Wings of Tef”. This should get you up to speed on the plot of the new video game pretty quickly.
The live-action prequel is being launched as a four-part short-form series in which you’ll see Josh Holloway (Lost, Yellowstone), Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) and Tamlyn Tomita (Cobra Kai). The series begins on September 15 and ends before the game’s release on October 2, 2026.
“Zero Hour” tells the story of “Ace Combat 8: Tiff’s Wings”; at the same time, they hope to make the series more accessible to newcomers to the series.
What is it about? On the first day after the Republic of Sotoa invaded the Federation of Central Ursia, three strangers survived. Josh Holloway stars as a pilot who can’t land, Brandon Routh plays a doctor who saves his enemies, and Tamlin Tomita plays a news anchor who’s blocked for telling the truth. The story is told in flashback and revolves around the family lives of the three protagonists. They take you back to the moment when normal life was destroyed and war began.
