Blizzard has officially announced the World of Warcraft-themed broadcast and event schedule for the upcoming BlizzCon 2026. BlizzCon will be held from September 12th to 13th, and Blizzard has prepared a busy schedule of events this year, from in-depth analysis of game mechanics to large-scale esports finals. The most important news for viewers is that the opening ceremony and key developer panels will be streamed completely free of charge.
The World of Warcraft team plans to discuss the future of Azeroth in detail and demystify the content creation process. The most interesting presentations include:
- World of Warcraft: Deep Dive – A detailed analysis of the new systems, designs, and adventures that await players in the next update.
- Home Ownership – A panel titled “Creating Comfort and Creative Freedom,” where authors will discuss how the long-awaited home ownership system can become a full-fledged sandbox for self-expression.
- Hardcore Mode – Discusses the future of single-use servers, community stories and plans for the mode.
- Worldbuilding and Art Design are two groups dedicated to discussing the visual language, lore, and preserving the classic spirit of Azeroth while creating new locations and cutscenes.
It’s going to be an extremely hot weekend for fans of competitive World of Warcraft. The AWC and MDI Finals will take place on the main stage, where top teams including Liquid, Echo and Mandatory will compete for the championship trophy and a share of the $600,000 prize pool.
There will also be a Classic Cup: Warcraft III, where legendary TeD and ToD esports players will return to settle old scores in a special Legacy match, and there will also be a fun 2v2 exhibition match with the developers.
Blizzard wouldn’t be without a gift for those watching the show at home. Stream on Twitch or the official World of Warcraft YouTube channel on September 12th and 13th to receive exclusive in-game rewards (Twitch Drops). Popular band LE SSERFIM will perform live for visitors to the Anaheim show (but the concert will not be streamed online).
