Apple officially launched its next generation smartwatch brand at a special “Surprise and Shine” event. The product line has been expanded with the launch of the base model Apple Watch Series 12 and the advanced version Apple Watch Ultra 4, which feature advanced hardware and deep integration of smart functions.
These devices are powered by the latest S11 processor, supplemented by dedicated co-processors, updated CPU and GPU cores, and secure enclaves for secure audio storage. The aluminum version features a Ceramic Shield protective coating that makes the case 60% stronger than the old Ion-X glass. Key software innovations are the audio intelligence system, which includes voice recognition tools for recording alerts, instant rewind functionality that can rewind conversations up to 15 seconds, and Siri Recap intelligence summary reporting.
The platform is also getting a separate Readiness app for comprehensive monitoring of the body’s physical condition, aiming to compete with popular devices from Oura and Whoop. Users can now take high-frequency heart rate measurements as a customizable complication on their watch face. The base Apple Watch Series 12 is priced at $399, while the rugged Ultra 4 version is priced at $799. The device is expected to be released on September 18, and you can pre-order it now.
