Promising post-apocalyptic MMO Pioner is facing a catastrophic drop in audience interest. In the past 24 hours, the peak number of people playing the game online on Steam has dropped to just 105, and the project is in danger of completely shutting down its servers.
The game launched into early access in December 2025 and attracted the attention of many players since its E3 presentation, but the release version was riddled with technical problems, although they were not serious. However, the signing of the contract with Rostelecom company for the distribution rights of the game in Russia and the opportunity to purchase the game from Russia on Steam were closed, which greatly affected the attitude of gamers towards the development.
Previously, the GFA Games studio faced a serious financial scandal, including wage arrears and the threat of bankruptcy, after which the developer almost stopped communicating.
Since the project is entirely an MMO and has no offline mode, it may be offline and permanently closed off from the world. The last update on Steam was released at the end of July, with only general messages about server status posted on the team’s social networks.
