
NVIDIA has released CUDA Toolkit 13.4, adding support for Windows on Arm, allowing developers to be the first to experience the capabilities of the next-generation Vera Rubin architecture. This update is especially important ahead of the launch of RTX Spark devices.
The main change is CUDA support on Windows-on-Arm64. Developers can now port applications to ARM64, check dependencies and test software components on existing Windows on Arm systems. This should help the ecosystem prepare for the release of RTX Spark, which is scheduled for October.
At the same time, CUDA 13.4 has received preliminary functional support for the Rubin architecture. Developers and maintainers of critical libraries can start porting and testing their applications now without waiting for support to be fully launched in future versions of CUDA. In addition, the compiler, PTX ISA, CUDA C++, libraries and developer tools have been updated.
There are also new opportunities using GPUs. Multiprocess Services V3 gets an updated management interface and more precise allocation of video memory in containers, and CUDA Python has expanded tools for working with memory, textures, and surfaces. It seems that NVIDIA has decided not to wait for the release of new hardware, but to prepare the entire software foundation for it in advance.
