The long wait for a new Professor Layton game will end this year. The release date was officially confirmed at yesterday’s Direct press conference.
The successful Professor Layton series is finally entering its next round. Developer Level 5 was also unveiled at yesterday’s Professor Layton and Steam New World Direct conference. A new trailer was shown, which also revealed a release date – and not just for Switch consoles.
According to the announcement, “Professor Layton and the New World of Steam” will be launched on December 10, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. So it will finally start in 2026!
Like the rest of the series, you’ll reprise the role of Hershel Layton, who teams up with young detective Luke Triton to solve the various mysteries in Steam Bison. The city has many mysteries to discover, which need to be solved by solving logic-based puzzles.
The new game in the long-running and successful series will offer the largest number of puzzles to solve in the series’ history. There’s also a co-op mode where you can recruit friends to work together to solve certain difficult puzzles.
