Koei Tecmo, Gust and SpiralAI have announced the international launch of RyzaChat: AI, an unusual action role-playing game. The project is already running on iOS and Android in the United States and several other countries, with full English support. We remember that previously, this project was only available in Japan.
The main feature of this “game” is the hybrid gameplay of text role-playing game and neural network companion. There are no strictly defined scripts here – players can freely communicate with the trilogy’s protagonist Lysa using common phrases, with neural networks turning the dialogue into gameplay actions. For convenience, the author provides two modes: RPG mode for completing tasks and chat mode for leisurely conversations. In addition to the heroine herself, there are more than 30 familiar characters in the plot.
Developers are incorporating artificial intelligence in surprisingly ethical ways. No generative art was used in this project – all illustrations were hand-drawn by artists under the strict supervision of long-time fashion designer Raisalin Stout, Toridamono. The heroine’s voice is dubbed by a neural network based on fresh recordings of original actress Yuri Noguchi. The model’s knowledge base is strictly limited to the original source canon, and no user correspondences are used for additional training.
